Claude skill
The skill teaches Claude to work with DuctTape.io: draw an architecture from code or a description, keep a diagram in step with the code, explain it and check it for gaps. Claude works on drafts only. Publishing and deleting stay with you in the app.
Download the skill (Version 1.0.0)
Set up in Claude Code
Unpack the archive into your skills folder. The skill then sits at ~/.claude/skills/ducttape and Claude uses it as soon as a diagram comes up.
unzip ducttape-skill.zip -d ~/.claude/skillsSet up in the Claude app
Open the settings, go to the skills section and upload the archive as it is. Skills need code execution there.
Connect your account
With a connection Claude creates diagrams right in your account and gives you the link to the editor. Create an access token in the settings and enter it:
claude mcp add --transport http ducttape https://theducttape.io/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer dtp_…"Without a connection Claude writes a JSON file. You open it in the dashboard with "Import from JSON".
What the skill contains
Instructions with modelling rules and typical architectures, the block catalog and a small script that checks a diagram file and arranges the blocks. The script needs Node.js 18 or later and no further packages.
